Apple Class enjoyed a refreshing sensory activity in the beautiful, sunny weather. ☀️🍊🍋
The pupils explored ice and a variety of fruits, including oranges, lemons, limes and grapefruit. They squeezed the fruits to create their own fresh juices, developing their sensory exploration and engagement skills.
To support a total communication environment, we also provided a tasting station where pupils could sample the different fruits and use communication boards to describe what they could see, smell, taste and feel. This encouraged pupils to express their preferences, build vocabulary and practise using a range of communication methods throughout the activity.
It was a fantastic way to combine sensory learning, communication, fun in the sunshine and a great way to cool down!! 🌞🍹🍓
