In the Further Education Department, the College Link students have enjoyed their Sports and Leisure sessions out-and-about in the community. They have had a gym induction at Accrington and Rossendale College which will allow them to access the facility free of charge in their own time. They will also have access to free personal trainers who can guide them with individualised plans. This term the students have also been travelling into Burnley using public transport and accessing St Peters Leisure Centre to play badminton. The focus for these sessions were to build on their confidence in accessing their communities and extend their communication and independent travel skills whilst having great fun and learning new sports.
