College Link in the Community

College Link are thrilled to be out and about in the Community again. The Functional Skills they learn in the classroom such as time, money, communication, independent travel are practiced in real life terms. The focus in this particular lesson was budgeting; the students had to purchase suitable Christmas gifts , given a particular budget to stick to. They had to then work out their total spend and their change using calculator and estimating skills. Finally, they had to purchase an outfit suitable for their Christmas party ensuring they knew their sizes and could locate them on the rails. The students particular enjoyed purchasing their lunches together at McDonalds as a reward for their exceptional conduct in the community.
