25 March 2021

In 3/4O this week, we have designed, tried on and made some amazing hats to help raise awareness for Brain Tumour Research.

Pupils have used different textured materials to design and physically make their own personalised head wear that they can wear in school on Friday.

All the pupils have greatly enjoyed trying on funny hats and posing for the camera, we hope you like our photos.

3/4O Brain Tumour Research

Below are some statistics taken from The Brain Tumour Research Campaign page.

  • Every two hours, someone is diagnosed with a brain tumour in England.

  • In the UK, 16,000 people each year are diagnosed with a brain tumour.

  • Only 12% of brain tumour patients survive beyond five years after their diagnosis, whereas over 70% of breast cancer and over 40% of leukaemia patients survive beyond five years.

  • Brain tumours continue to kill more children and adults under the age of 40 than any other cancer.
