Key Stage 4 Art & Design - Studying the Japanese Abstract/Expressionist Artist - YAYOI KUSAMA
Last week, pupils made ceramic pumpkins in the style of International Artist, Yayoi Kusama.
After watching her video of her exhibition, 'INFINITY', the pupils were highly motivated and totally inspired!
This week, we painted our pumpkins - using acrylic paint in chosen colours. Although Yayoi mainly used yellow and oranges for her pumpkins, I gave the pupils a choice - to make their artwork their own.
They were shown a demonstration of how to work with a small brush - using fine art techniques and taking care with small spaces, then worked independently - taking their time and being proud of their work.
Their completed pumpkins are fantastic!
4L are amazing artists and have created work in a style of a current artist.
Well done!
