An EGGcellent experiment!

This afternoon 3/4O have continued their science investigations into different forces. We have already looked at push and pull playing different games involving these motions. We then created an experiment looking at how gravity pulls cars down ramps and changed the variable of materials on the ramp to investigate friction slowing down our vehicles.

Today, we have investigated gravity and air resistance! The class were given their own egg and the mighty task to design a parachute for it. Each class member decorated their egg, chose their parachute material and size, and attached it to their vessel. We ventured out to see how different parachutes would protect the egg. After much investigating with different heights and parachutes we cracked it - we found the bigger the parachute and higher the drop - the slower the egg drifted down. What a SMASHING afternoon!
