On Monday, our learners took part in activities to celebrate World Mental Health Day, an international awareness day that takes place every year on 10th October. The day helps to raise awareness of mental health, encourage positive wellbeing, and remind us that looking after our mental health is just as important as looking after our physical health.
To show their support, learners came to school wearing yellow, creating a bright and positive atmosphere throughout the day. They enjoyed taking part in a range of yellow-themed activities that promoted discussion about feelings, emotions, and wellbeing.
In our class, 4LP, learners decorated their own emoji faces, thinking carefully about different emotions and the ways people express how they feel. This creative activity encouraged conversations about recognising emotions in ourselves and others, helping learners to develop their understanding of mental health in a fun and accessible way.
World Mental Health Day also reminds us of the importance of talking, listening, and supporting one another. By taking part in these activities, our learners helped to spread a positive message that everyone deserves support with their mental wellbeing.
We are incredibly proud of how enthusiastically our learners embraced the day and the thoughtful discussions they shared throughout the activities. 💛
