As part of the Euro 2020 football tournament, each class has been allocated a team to learn about and support. P4 were given Spain! We used a day in school to learn all about the Spanish country and culture.
We dressed ourselves in red and yellow, the colours of the Spanish flag, and began the day by saying “Buenos días” to each other. In Art we chose our favourite colours and used them to create a mosaic map of Spain in the style of Antoni Gaudi. We learnt about 'Flamenco' dancing in Music and used castanets to compose pieces of music to dance to! In the afternoon we explored some Spanish foods. We each had a smell or taste of paella, empanadas and manchego cheese, before chopping up lots of different fruits to make our own fruit juice/sangria! Vamos!
