3D have proved to be fantastic artists yet again!

3D have had such a busy time in the last half term with their art topic.  We have continued with the natural theme and looked at the work of the incredible British artist, Andy Goldsworthy, who is best known for his sculpture and photography in the environment.  The students in the class have looked at looked at the process of his work through watching a video and were really impressed with how he uses only natural objects and does not use glue or nails to fasten them together.   Follow this link to have a look at what he does. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sngXz55b4bc

We collected natural objects from around our school grounds and made our own mobiles which we took around and displayed for everyone else to see.  We have also made a collaborative land art sculpture in the sensory garden area which looks fabulous. Photos attached.

The reason we loved it so much was that environmental land art is so easy to do, anywhere in the natural environment.  All you need are some leaves, twigs, stones, sand or flowers to create something beautiful … why don’t you have a go in the holidays?  Here are some ideas to get you started.  If you do, please send images to your teacher!  Google will always help out with other ideas.
