Making the most of the sunshine!

In 3B we have had a very busy week where we have adapted our learning to make the most of this glorious sunshine! During Key Skills we have practiced our debate skills giving reasons to support whether we agree or disagree with statements such as "Summer is better than winter" and "Pupils should not have to wear uniform." Within Maths, we have looked at time where we have planned our own challenges and recorded time manually and using a stopwatch. We even began to estimate how long it would take us to complete them. One learner ran around the bike track in under 2 minutes...BACKWARDS!

We are very fortunate to have Miss Campbell with us at the moment as she advances towards the end of her final teaching placement at Tor View. Miss Campbell has planned an exciting week, including a trip, for our learners making the most out of outdoor learning. What better way to hear all about it than from Miss Campbell herself...

Hello everyone!

We were very lucky with the weather this week so have been able to do lots of outdoor learning. Today, we went on our class trip to Snig Hole park in Helmshore to observe the war memorial. 3B were absolutely excellent on the journey there and back, all of them using fantastic road safety skills to keep themselves and others safe. At the memorial, we thought about why it was there and how it made us feel. We were also able to look at some poppy wreaths that were laid at the foot of the memorial to commemorate the Falkland's War. As we had some spare time before our trip back to school, 3B enjoyed a sunny 20 minutes playing in the park and sitting in the shade. I hope that everyone had a great time learning about our local history and getting out into the community on a lovely, warm day!
