Key Stage 3 Design and Technology + Wellbeing Week
3M have been working extremely hard in Design and Technology last half term.
They learnt about how a Vacuum Forming Machine makes plastic packaging - and in particular, snacks.
We looked at existing snacks, such as Dairylee Dunkers and decided as a group that the ingredients might not be as healthy as they could be!
Pupils learnt about the 'Healthy Food Triangle', and how we need to eat lots of fruit and vegetables, some dairy or alternatives to dairy, some protein, and a small number of sweet things to stay healthy in our lives.
Here are 3M's designs for a 'HEALTHY SNACK PACK'.
They learnt basis Graphic Design - and what each of the Design Process means - 'Design, Plan, Make, Evaluate, Change'
Their designs were generated using Microsoft Publisher, and word art.
After thinking of a name for the new snack pack, they used the computer in turn, then added
colour and drawings to enhance their work.
Pupils created some superb names for their snacks, many of them incorporating their own names!
Excellent work 3M!
