Walk with Ruby
During Next Steps’ Community session we took the opportunity to get out and about with our school therapy dog, Ruby. Ruby joined the class on a few laps around the bike track and learners were able to walk with Ruby and be responsible for holding onto her lead and spend some time outdoors.
Walking is great way for our learners to maintain a healthy lifestyle and helps to prevent various conditions as well as gives them an opportunity to strengthen their bones and muscles. Going for a walk when you're tired may be a more effective energy boost than grabbing a cup of coffee. Walking increases oxygen flow through the body. We enjoyed our time out in the sun and boosted our Vitamin D levels.
