Short Courses

We are passionate about inclusive education for children and young adults with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND). Our short courses are designed and delivered by our Specialist Practitioners in Education or Specialist Leaders in Education and are based upon effective approaches to teaching and learning developed and implemented across our alliance schools to meet the needs of our young people.

Typical courses offered as part of our short course programme include:

  • Makaton Language Programme
  • Sensory Learning
  • A Practical Guide to Autistic Spectrum Conditions
  • An Introduction to Social Stories
  • Highly Structured Language Teaching
  • Effective Plenaries

For further details on each of our courses for the 2019-20 academic year and to book a place on one of our courses, please see the documents listed on this page.

All our courses are typically 3 hour sessions and delivered at our Ewood Campus Conference Suite unless otherwise specified. Tea, coffee and light refreshments are offered as part of the course fee.
