Last week in Catering, we used potatoes, carrots and onions grown by the Horticulture group last year to make soup and enjoy together. We had to wash the vegetables because they were still covered in soil from being grown; we then peeled and diced them up ready for cooking. We fried the onion before adding the potatoes and carrots (and a bit of shop bought celery) before adding stock and simmering until it was all cooked through. We all had a go at blending the soup before serving it up and enjoying it as a group. There were a lot of clean bowls and requests for seconds which was the best feedback we could have asked for and it was wonderful to work as part of a team and see what we could produce together!
