4M have been hard at work linking science, horticulture, and mental health.

They sanded pre-prepared plywood using PPE, then drew insects and bugs from colourful images from the internet. Some of the detail the pupils picked out was superb. they took their time, creating a beautiful product for the garden environment.
Pupils added twigs, sticks, and moss the inside space. Staff helped the pupils add string the top of the hotels so they can hang in gardens, off the side of sheds or in trees off branches.

These bug hotels will encourage insects, bugs which in turn will benefit our ecosystems.

We discovered that being outside in the fresh air is great for our mental health and wellbeing, alongside watching insects and bugs enjoy the bug hotels.

We hope you like our photographs.
