Earth Day - 22/04/20
Climate Action
Every year on the 22nd April, the world celebrates Earth Day. This year, the theme is ‘Climate Action’. Using the attached document, I want you to have a go at colouring our amazing earth and then (carefully) cutting across the lines within it. On the second sheet, write in each quarter something that you find amazing about our earth – it could be something you find fascinating, like the different wildlife that exists in the natural world! Please forward any examples via email to the school office: office@theviewtrust.org
Amazing Earth Template
Additionally, if you fancy working on some poetry – why not complete the Earth Day acrostic poem sheet? You are free to write whatever you would like that relates to the earth, just remember each line has to start with the corresponding letter!

PSHCE - Communities
In KS2 PSHCE we have be learning about our local community. To continue our work, have your child study your local community, if you are able to go for a walk then walk around your street and see what you can see. If you cannot access your local community then go on to google maps, type in your postcode and click, and have a look around at what you can see.
- Is there litter?
- What buildings can you see?
- What people live in your community?
- How could you make it better?
- What is your favourite part?
TASK – Draw a picture or create a model of your local community and label what you have seen.
Spread the Colour
If you have paints at home (or you could make them from the sensory ideas on this page!), why not have a go at painting your own rainbow?
Don’t forget to display it in your window to brighten up your street!
Space Tourism
Each week, Picture News will be providing amazing resources that you can do at home. This week, they are looking at Virgin Galactic and how they want to make space travel available for everyone. Please see the resources below for all information, ideas and resources required. Please note, there are two different news prompts that are based on the same activity – please see which one will best suit your child.

It’s very important to stay fit and healthy while at home. Every day, Joe Wicks is live streaming a PE session at 9am on YouTube – almost one million people are tuning in live every day! Cosmic Kids also offer a fantastic free service, where adults and children can follow a variety of fantastic themed yoga sessions. Finally, GoNoodle offer a free sign up where you can find guided dances, yoga, mindfulness and many more amazing activities. In P7, we managed to max out four different characters and amassed an incredible total of 653 minutes worth of activity. Why not see how many characters you can max out at home?
