English

This week could you all please write me a story. It can be about anything you want, but has to be at least two paragraphs and use full stops and commas.
If you want, you can work with an adult in your house to help get ideas and make your sentences.

NB: The key skills I would be looking for are letter formation and making sure your child’s writing is good and readable. For most of our learners I would recommend making the story with them as they may struggle with the first idea. Once they have the first idea you can build on that, for example if they say they want a story about a frog, then ask ‘where do frogs live’ etc and then you can build a story that way. For some of the learners, they should be able to create a story based on one sentences, for example ‘The man walked into the house and everyone looked at him’ then they can build a narrative around that one sentence.
