Mr Findlay-Pidcock's Challenge
Send a card to an elderly person who lives in a local care home. Tell them about who you are, what you like doing. Tell them about what you have been doing. If a grown up lets you, give your address so that somebody can write back to you. Maybe you could do this every week?

Key skills - Pencil control and letter forming
Why not practice mark marking in sand, flour, rice and dabbers. Allow your child to use their fingers to feel the shapes your making before giving them a pencil or felt tip. There are lots off letters, number and shape apps on the ipad. Why don’t you hide letters (written on pieced of paper) around the home/ garden and let your child search for them (letter recognition)
2D Shapes - Key skills
Go on a 2d shapes hunt in the home or garden. Can you find simple shapes (circle clock, square tv, rectangle window? Log or draw them them using the recoding sheet below. It may be nice to take pictures of them on the ipad for you to look back on. Whilst exploring, you could discuss the shapes properties (number of corners and edges). Why don’t you discuss their colours, how they feel, the noise they make and try to measure them using hands and feet?

Mrs Orme's Healthy Flapjack Recipe
This is a recipe to make a ‘healthier flapjack’.
Key Skills - Measure - paper aeroplanes
Make paper aeroplanes using the instructions attached. Before you have a go at making the plane, it would be nice to decorate your paper / card first. Once thrown, discuss who came first and why they are the winner. You could also look at other positions too. Why not measure how far the planes travelled using non standard units of measure. On the internet, you will find lots of different ways to make paper aeroplanes, why not attempt some others and see which plane travels the furthest.
