General Primary 5-11 with QTS and SEND/Inclusion.

This route is appropriate for trainees with an ambition to work in the special school sector with learners with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND). Students will be based within primary or secondary age phases (dependent on the cognitive ability of the pupil cohort). A contrasting placement in a mainstream primary school ensures that on gaining recommendation for QTS, students can opt to undertake their induction as an ECT (Early Career Teacher) in either the mainstream primary or special school sector. As part of the PgCE, students have the opportunity to produce a small scale research project with support from their University lecturer. Students will be able to further enhance their training with access to specialist courses led by experienced and qualified practitioners.

General Primary 5-11 with QTS

This route is appropriate for trainees with an ambition to work in a mainstream primary school. Students will undertake contrasting key stage placements, enhanced by an additional placement in another school. Students will be able to further enhance their training with access to specialist courses led by experienced and qualified practitioners. As part of the PgCE, students have the opportunity to produce a small scale research project with support from their University lecturer. Students will be able to further enhance their training with access to specialist courses led by experienced and qualified practitioners.

General Primary 5-11 with QTS and Early Years (3-7)

This route is appropriate for trainees with an ambition to work in an Early Years setting in a mainstream nursery or primary school. Students will undertake placements in Early Years settings with a contrasting placement in a mainstream Key Stage 1 classroom. As part of the PgCE, students have the opportunity to produce a small scale research project with support from their University lecturer. Students will be able to further enhance their training with access to specialist courses led by experienced and qualified practitioners.
