Welcome to P5's Page
Hello everyone!
On this page you can find some fun and familiar activities to do at home!
There are sensory activities to help you stay relaxed and some songs and activities that we use regularly in P5.
ChooseIt! Maker 3 and Help Kidz Learn are resources that everyone in P5 enjoy using!
You can find lots of familiar stories that we have read in class, including “We’re Going on a Bear Hunt.”
At the bottom of this page there are links to learning materials for the Spring and Summer terms.
Our entire class team is missing everyone from P5 and we hope that we can all be back in school soon.
We are still here to help – if you are struggling at home, please contact school to see if we can help you.
Stay safe and stay healthy.

I’ll try to ring on Monday afternoons or Tuesday mornings. Thank you!

Try and find some familiar letters and words in the book.
What can you see? What are the characters in the story doing?
Can you re-enact what is happening?
Below are some games to help you practise your phonics skills, as well as some familiar stories you can watch and listen to.
With help from an adult, login to ‘Phonics Play’ to access more fun phonics games!

We have read ‘We’re Going on a Bear Hunt’ as a class and explored sensory materials that represent parts of the story. Use the file below to read through the story. You can use cups or containers and some of the following household items as sensory materials:
- Grass – carpet / fill a cup with grass from outside
- Water – fill a cup with water / water spray
- Mud – playdough / get a bit of mud from outside
- Forest – leaves and twigs from outside / green and brown bedsheets or material
- Snow – cotton wool / cotton buds / styrofoam
- Cave – black bedsheet / large duvet
Challenge: Can you sign some of the key words?
Challenge: Can you build a ‘den’ using furniture and bedsheets and then pretend to be the bear in the cave?
