We are open for recruitment for 2021/22!
We have moved away from our face-face interviews due to Covid-19 and are now offering remotely interviews via Zoom. If you are interested in applying, please do not hesitate to contact us: email@example.com
We are hosting online Open Evenings for Tor View School, where you will be able to find out about training to teach with Pennine Lancashire SCITT (PLSCITT). PLSCITT is based at The Hollins High School and comprises of two teaching school alliances, East Lancashire Inclusion Partnership (ELIP) based at Tor View School and East Lancashire Teaching School Alliance (ELTSA) which is also based at The Hollins.
We offer Initial Teacher Training through the School Direct route. School Direct programmes are designed by groups of schools – with a university or a School Centred Initial Teacher Trainer (SCITT) – based on the skills they are looking for in a newly qualified teacher (NQT).
Our ELIP programmes are designed by the mainstream primary and specialist schools within our teaching school alliance in partnership with Pennine Lancashire SCITT, which provides accreditation for the programme and the University of Cumbria, which provides the PgCE element of the programme. We are passionate about inclusive education for children and young adults with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) and are seeking to train and recruit individuals who share our passion to work in our mainstream primary and specialist schools.
Our programmes last a year, and you’ll train in at least two good or outstanding schools. School Direct offers a brilliant option if you want to train and learn ‘on the job’ – but you shouldn’t worry about being thrown in at the deep end. You’ll be part of a team from the very start, receiving intensive support from experienced teachers and mentors. That means you won’t be teaching classes unsupported until the school thinks you’re ready.
The principles of academic rigour on School Direct are the same as on university-led courses, too. Our School Direct courses all result in qualified teacher status (QTS). We also award you a Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PgCE) with Master’s-level credits.
Our courses have very high rates of employment and trainee satisfaction. We are currently entering our eighth year recruiting training teachers and have excellent completion rates. In addition, a very high proportion of those that completed the course in July, secured employment ready for the start of the next academic year in September.
With School Direct, you now have the chance to train locally within East Lancashire.
