Welcome to Tor View Care
Tor View School offers a wide range of services, outside of school hours, to provide children and young people with access to further opportunities for learning through play and social interaction. The service is managed by Vicky Sweetmore (Extended Service Manager) with the support of Liz Charles (Parent Liaison)
Our service aims for all the young people to have the opportunity to:
- develop their communication and social skills
- increase their self-confidence and self-esteem
- become more independent
- develop their physical and creative play skills
- have fun!
We are based at the Tor View School site and our services are available to pupils and students who attend our school. We are delighted to be able to also offer some of our services to other children and young people with special educational needs who live in the local area. Tor View Care is fully inclusive, with availability being dependent on having the appropriate staff to meet pupil needs. If you are interested in any of the services we offer, we would encourage families to contact Vicky to further discuss the possibilities available
Tor View Care currently encompasses three services:
After School Club runs every week day during term time providing a wide range of activities for years 1 to 11. These activities include Fun & Games, Skiing, Cycling, Nature, Sports, Cookery, Football and Craft & Recycling. During their time at After School Club all children are offered a small snack and a drink before activities begin.
Holiday Playschemes take place during the school holidays, providing a variety of different activities such as cycling, art & craft, music and cooking as well as trips to the local community and further afield, for example the bowling alley, Boomerang Multi-sensory Centre and the local park. Activities are fully risk assessed and adapted to the needs of the participants, ensuring each child can be included in the activities provided.
Our Holiday Clubs currently run every half term, 1 week during the Easter holidays and 3 weeks over the summer. They are open from 10am – 3pm, every week day for Years 1 to 11, and for 2 days per week for the older participants.
Personal Assistant Support
Tor View school recognises the significant need for care outside of school hours and is supportive of all our families who are seeking this. Our colleagues are free to undertake commitments in a direct agreement with families and school can offer support by advertising any additional work that may be available. If you are interested in this, please contact Liz Charles, our Parent Liaison, for an appropriate form.
For more detailed information on each of the available services, please contact Vicky or Liz and they will be happy to assist with your enquiry.
