Welcome to Tor View Care
We offer a wide range of services, outside of school hours, to provide children and young people with access to further opportunities for learning through play and social interaction.
We are based at the Tor View School site and our services are available to pupils and students who attend Tor View School and also to children and young people who live in the local area. Our aim is for all the young people who access our services to have the opportunity to:
- develop their communication and social skills
- increase their self-confidence and self-esteem
- become more independent
- develop their physical and creative play skills
- have fun!
Tor View Care encompasses four services:
After School Club runs every week day during term time providing a wide range of activities. These activities include Fun & Games, Skiing, Cycling, Nature, Sports, Cookery, Football and Craft & Recycling. During their time at After school Club all children are offered a small snack and a drink before activities begin.
There are two After School Clubs running each week during term time for students exclusively in the Further Education department. These are based at the Ewood Campus and include Physical Fun and Craft & Enterprise.
Holiday Playschemes take place during the school holidays, providing a variety of different activities such as cycling, art & craft, music and cooking as well as trips to the local community and further afield, such as the bowling alley, water ski centre, ski slope, Boomerang Multi-sensory Centre and the local park. Activities are adapted to the needs of the participants, ensuring each child is fully included in the activities provided.
Bespoke Care Packages are available to parents who wish to access a tailored support package based on the particular needs of their child.
For more detailed information on each of these services please explore the links on this page or contact our Main School office.
