Welcome to Tor View Specialist Learning Community
You may know us as Tor View School and Tor View School continues to be at the centre of Tor View Specialist Learning Community: an outstanding school on the edge of open countryside in the Rossendale Valley of East Lancashire whose main focus is to provide outstanding education for pupils and students aged 3−19 with a wide range of special educational needs and disabilities.
However, we now offer ACCROSS @ Tor View, a continuing education provision and work-related training programme for young adults aged 19-21 with special educational needs and disabilities from our locality.
In addition, our new Tor View Care offer is a continuation of the services we have developed under the ‘extended services through schools agenda’. We currently offer After School Clubs and Holiday Playschemes and we are developing our offer further to incorporate bespoke care packages for individual families.
We are also a National Support School and a National Teaching School. As part of these roles we lead the East Lancashire Inclusion Partnership (ELIP), a teaching school alliance of schools and other partners that are working together to develop the quality of teaching and learning and pupil progress across a number of schools in Rossendale and beyond, including providing Primary and Specialist SEND Initial Teacher Education through our School Direct programme.
